Insect Surfer Dave asked me Chrome Oxide to help formulate an audience taping policy for the Insect Surfers. I proceeded to do so by stealing heavily from other sites. :-)

Taping Policy - Taping is privilege not a right.

1) The Insect Surfers allow and encourage audio and video taping of their performances.

2) The Insect Surfers abide by venue policy. If the venue doesn't allow taping, then the Insect Surfers can't do anything to change that.

3) The Insect Surfers can NEVER guarantee soundboard access.

4) Tapers can tape from any location in the venue that doesn't obstruct the view of others or in areas designated by the venue for taping. Microphone stands are allowed. Except where venues don't allow it (see rule 2 above). Please be aware that people do dance at performances, and you should place your microphones where this won't be a problem.

5) All recordings must be used for personal use or trading only. All audio and video performances belong to the Insect Surfers and are not available for promotional use without explicit prior written consent. Selling or commercializing any recording is illegal and will jeopardize taping privileges for everyone.

6) The Insect Surfers really like to get copies of any recordings made, audio or video.

7) Trading is allowed as long as no money changes hands. Trading includes uploading to online music sharing torrents and sites (archive.org).
